Who are we?
La Fiancée is a French fashion brand which was established in 1994. It draws its inspiration from its many travels across the globe and infuses it in its range of collections with their vibrant prints. All products are made from natural materials and are made to have great-looking and comfortable cuts for all women: La Fiancée is a perfect, good-mood fashion brand for everyday life - there is something for women of all ages and sizes!
Journey in a printed fashion
A travel story
Shortly after travelling to Thailand, I fell in love with everything about the country: its colours, its artisanal environment and most importantly, just how peaceful everyday life really was… The young Parisian girl who I once was, now wanted to encounter a different way of life. I left once again to go on a journey across the roads of Asia, rucksack on my back: from Laos to Bali and eventually passing through India. I bought some traditional fabrics, Ikats and Batiks - all of which I used to create jackets or dresses in some small sowing workshops; created with a mix of diverse styles which will have all gone on to mark this first collection and the true meaning behind it: born of the great mythical river on the banks, and consequently gifting the brand its first name: la Fiancée du Mekong.
Having the opportunity to travel and innovate new ideas, as well as seeking inspiration from the other side of the world, is the meaningful reason why I chose this job.
Gradually over time, La Fiancée progressed towards becoming a lifestyle brand; blending decorative objects, textiles and accessories to create pieces of clothing. In 2004, the inspired Indian Kurtas tunic - printed in cotton veil – became a flagship product for the brand. It marks the beginning of printed fashion having a major influence on all clothing in the wardrobe – it has become the true signature mark of la Fiancée.
Yet the most beautiful journeys are built and shared together.

Each new collection of la Fiancée engenders a new and vibrant adventure which is followed by a red thread: the destination.

The world is full of inspiration.
A simple flower, a work of art, a patina hung from the wall: these are all anchors of imagination and creativity.
Right in the centre of Brittany, in the very heart of our design office, is situated a space which overflows with collected gems and treasures which we have discovered all over the world. It is the very place where our ideas are created: sketched and brought to life by colour, then going on to exist in our very own collections.
Our prints are available to buy and are printed on all women’s clothing – from the cotton veil tunic to the kimono; from the long dress to a pair of flowing trousers, and from the remarkable jewellery to the silk scarf… All of which are imbued with this little something which sparks within us a desire to travel.

Using a range of different fabrics and materials
All the fabrics used to create our products are carefully chosen to suit customers. Comfort is where creating our products starts from, so that we can offer the fluidity, lightness and easy feel to every piece of clothing in the wardrobe. The natural materials we use have a great significance in each collection, notably cotton – a symbolic material of the brand. Then we have silk, wool and linen which are all equally used in our products.
Our goal is to propose always more environmentally aware collections. We have already conscientious materials such as Ecovero viscose and organic cotton. We also want to do this with our historic suppliers, partners since the first steps of La Fiancée, in order to evolve and grow together. This process is long, but we want to do it right, to improve us at each step, in order to achieve our goal.
Upcycling is a well-established practice here at La Fiancée. We reuse old fabrics to create new clothes and DIY fabric coupons. We equally implement other strategies in order to promote environmental awareness, such as recycling fabric scraps to use as lining for our bags or pouches.
Always more responsible
La Fiancée is a small, independent, family-orientated business which promotes a fair and caring approach to its rapport with teams and suppliers. Travelling around the world, embarking on new adventures as well as having an openness to the world, are all qualities which are instilled in the DNA of the brand. La Fiancée has grown and developed thanks to and alongside its partners located in Asia for more than 25 years.
We support several charities including: Reach for the moon India (of which Pascale Mordret is vice-president of the association): a charity that provides mutual aid, sanitary care and education to orphaned and homeless children, as well as women across Northern India; equally, we support Prométhée Humanitaire – another charity offering aid to street children all over the world.
Long term partner
Fully aware of the impact our brand can have on the environment, we prefer using transport methods such as cargo, as well as developing newer and closer partnerships in France and across Europe to reduce the stress on the environment.
We also tackle issues which are of an upmost priority to us: waste and plastic reduction as well as using environmentally cleaner materials, adhering to ethical projects and ensuring that employees are well looked after.

Since its establishment and even more so today, la Fiancèe offers a diversity of different cuts which are adapted to all body types: from sizes 36 to 56. The range of prints which we design as well as the richness in colour of our clothing, gives everyone an opportunity to find their true happiness. With a collection designed to brighten up every moment in life – whether it be at work, on the weekends or even on holidays, la Fiancée has its sights set on being a high-quality yet accessible brand for all sorts of budgets!

Here at la Fiancée, optimism and the joy of living are two principal tenets which we are proud to uphold – it’s in our genes! Like a bulwark of gloom, colours bring light and happiness into one’s life.
