What style for my body type?
Tips from La Fiancée to Flatter Every Body Type
At La Fiancée, we celebrate joy, color, and diversity. Because fashion isn’t about size—it’s about an infinite variety of shapes, styles, and ways to be yourself.
Whether you’re petite, tall, curvy, slim, or all of the above, there’s always a cut that showcases your style.
And our mission is to help you find clothes that flatter your figure without ever pigeonholing you.
NO RULES
At La Fiancée, we believe, first and foremost, that there are no rules—only your own desires. You should trust your instincts: if you feel good in an outfit, it means it suits you, regardless of any “rules.”
Here are a few common misconceptions about women’s fashion in general:
There are no go: prints, bright colors, and fitted cuts look good on everyone. It’s all about balance, attitude, and confidence!
Don’t wear loose-fitting clothes to hide your figure—they don’t hide anything; they just make you look bigger. A flowing cut that moves with your body is a better choice and will flatter you more!
You shouldn’t ignore your insecurities: you don’t ignore them; you cleverly work around them by highlighting your best features.
It's all a matter of perspective!
Every woman has parts of her body she loves and parts she’s self-conscious about. The idea isn’t to hide them, but to play with how they’re perceived.
Is your stomach too prominent?
Opt for A-line dresses or a flared shirt that create a vertical line. Flowing fabrics and subtle prints are perfect for softening that area.
Strong arms?
Go for three-quarter, raglan, or kimono sleeves in lightweight fabrics. Matching the color of the top and sleeves helps avoid breaking up the line of the arm.
Curvy hips?
Opt for solid-colored, flowing bottoms and bright, printed tops to balance your figure.
Full bust?
Choose modest V-necklines, matte, non-stretch fabrics, and small-to-medium patterns on the bust.
A Body
The hips are more pronounced than the shoulders: a harmonious and natural silhouette that invites you to play with the proportions between the top and bottom.
Goal: Balance the lower body by drawing the eye upward.
Tips:
- Opt for boat necklines, ruffles at the shoulders, or structured jackets.
- For the bottom half, opt for straight-leg or flared cuts, flowing pants, or A-line skirts.
- Choose light colors or prints for the top, and more subdued shades for the bottom.
V body
The shoulders are slightly more defined than the hips: an elegant, assertive silhouette that’s easy to balance by playing with proportions and fabrics.
Goal: to soften the upper body and add volume to the lower body.
Advices :
- Choose V-necklines or round necklines, and flowing fabrics to avoid a stiff look.
- For the bottom half, opt for flared skirts, wide-leg pants, or bootcut styles.
- Play with prints and bright colors on the bottom half to balance your silhouette.
H body
The shoulders, waist, and hips are aligned. The silhouette is straight and elegant.
Goal: to create movement and define the waist.
Advices :
- Opt for fitted jackets, belted dresses, or tied-up blouses.
- Flowing fabrics and soft materials create a natural look without stiffness.
- Add vertical prints or center-front button closures to elongate your silhouette.
X body
The shoulders and hips are aligned, and the waist is defined: a balanced and graceful silhouette.
Goal: to accentuate the waist without overloading the silhouette.
Advices :
- Fitted cuts, wrap dresses, high-waisted skirts, and structured jackets are your best friends.
- Soft, but not tight-fitting, fabrics flatter your figure without constricting it.
- V-necklines or sweetheart necklines flatter your bust.
8 body
The shoulders and hips create a beautiful symmetry, accentuated by a defined waist: a harmonious silhouette that looks its best in styles that flatter your natural curves.
Goal: to highlight the defined waist and natural femininity.
Advices :
- Opt for fitted dresses, empire-waist styles, or belted jackets.
- Flowing and structured fabrics drape beautifully over your figure without looking too tight.
- Avoid fabrics that are too thick or loose-fitting styles that hide your curves.
O body
The shapes are round and harmonious, often with a barely defined waist.
Goal: to elongate the silhouette and create an effect of lightness.
Advices :
- Opt for flowing, matte fabrics, straight or A-line cuts, and open necklines.
- Play with shades of the same color or monochromatic color schemes to create the illusion of length.
- Avoid clothes that are too tight or, conversely, too loose: striking the right balance is key.
